I lead up my playful colt and he toses his head. I kiss his nose and I rub his ear. I check his legs and tack before pulling on my helmet. I swing easily and lightly into his saddle and I gather the reins. He snorts and turns his head. He nudges my boot and I pat his neck. I lightly click my heels to his side. He starts forwards in a willful walk and I walk and trot him catiously around the large clearing in the meadow. Once the warmth is raidiating from his sides I know he's warmed up enough. I give him a bit more rein and I keep him at a steady trot. I lead over his withers since I don't feel like posting. I rub his neck and we head towards the trail that leads to the pine brush. He whinies and a smile slips across my face. When we reach the brush I slow Strom to a walk and he sniffs the air curiously. I whistle a light somber tune and he twitches his ears back and forth. I click my heels to his side again and we walk into the bush. He steps high and steady taking in his surroundings. I smile and I sit lightly on his back ready for his reaction to this new place. He twitches his ears and snorts into the air he's breath misting upwards. I smile and we walk through the small forest for a while. As we come out onto the beach I smile and he pulls towards the water. I let him open up to a joyus canter to stretch his legs. I lean over his withers encouraging him to run. I smile proudly at the strenght in his legs and neck. I slow him to a trot as we near the waters edge. He gives a playful buck and I pat his neck. I slow him down again to a walk and I let him walk a few steps into the water. He dips his head and drinks a bit before I pull up his head. "Sorry baby you can't drink now, I don't want you to colic for Lillie. You be a good boy and listen to her....." I say without finishing as masses of tears spring to my eyes. We stand their for maybe five mintues before Storm gives another playful buck and I land in the water. It takes me a moment before I see clearly. I look up and smile to see Storm standing nose and nose with Misty Cry, I shake my head to get the hair out of my eyes and I look up to see the rider is Tim. I stand up shakily and Tim grabs Storms reins and leads him over to me. I smile and instead I wrap my arms around Misty's neck. I bury my face in her red chestnut coat and I hug her. I let go and I ask her for a kiss and hug. She gives me a gentle kiss and then a quick hug. I rub the star on her forehead and I then grab Storm's reins. I pat his neck and I lead him over to a hitching post that was put in a little while ago. I pull off his saddle and I place it over the fence. I wring out his saddle pad and lay it next to his saddle. Once I'm done I walk over to where Tim is hitching Misty to the post. I smile at him before running over. I wrap my arms around his neck and he lifts me up. I smile up at him and he reaches down and kisses me. I close my eyes thankful that he could be here when I thought he'd be busy at the stables. "I heard about you selling Storm and Grace and I thought you'd need some moral support," he says and I push back his blonde hair from his emerald eyes. "Thanks, I've found Storm's buyer but Grace is still homeless and I really don't want to send her off to auction," I say sorrowfully. I loosen my arms and I drop down onto my feet. I quickly check up on Storm and I wiggle out of my jacket. I place it over his back and I grab Tim's hand. I smile at him and I lean my head on his shoulder. He looks down and me and smiles. "That must really suck atleast you can still visit Storm whenever," he says hopefully. I smile weakly trying to be as optimistic as him. We walk along the beach looking out at the reddy orange sunset over the lake. He puts his arm aorund me and I pull myself close to him. We walk out onto the pier and we set with our feet dangling over the edge. I rest my head on his chest listening to his steady breathing. "So..," he says out of the blue, "Have you thought of what your going to do with Treasure? He's a sweet colt but you two just don't seem to have the same connection as you do with your other horses." I look up at him into his green eyes and I smile, "Ya a little, it's true that we don't have a full connection so I'm thinking about passing him up. He's a great colt and I absolutley adore him but he's not my type of horse really." We stay watching the sunset over the lake and I pull myself closer to Tim. He looks down at me and smiles. "It's amazing everyone is getting married over at Wind Chasers." he suddenly says and pulls away from me. I grind my teeth slightly as he pulls away from me and I stand up and brush myself off. I turn on my heel and start walking back to Storm so I can tack him up and take him back to the barn. I look back one last time and I see Tim down on his knee facing the lake. It looks as though he's crying so I start to run back to him to see what happened. When I reach him I bend down to his level and he spins around. He's grinning wildly and I almost fall off the peir. In his hand is a little black cushioned box. He opens it up and looks up at me. "Miss Melanie Graham, from the first time I layed my eyes on you I knew you we're the one. We've grown closer over all the years. We've always been there for each other through thick and thin and know I think it' time we stay together forever. So what do you say, will you marry me?" He's says with confidence and ease. He opens up the box and I gasp at the beautiful ring. "Yes oh yes I will!!!" I say happily and I bend down and I kiss Tim and we tumble over. I wrap my arms around him not wanting to let go. When I finally let go I take the chance and I look at the ring. I pull it out of the case carefully. I look at it and smile happily. It's a simple golden band with two set in diamonds. I look more closely and I smile at seeing on the ring connection the two diamonds was a simple ivy pattern. I hug Tim and I let him slip the ring onto my finger. "So when should we tell them?" I ask excitedly. "Tell who?" Tim stupidly says. I laugh and I give his ear a light tug, "Everyone at Wind Chaser and maybe Rising Dream too," I say as I lean my head on his shoulder and we walk back to the horses. He leans his head on mine. Once we reach Misty and Storm I kiss both of their muzzles and I tack up Storm. I pull on my jacket and helmet. I I swing up into his saddle. He whickers and I walk and trot him around to limber him up while Tim does the same with Misty. I watch as she swings around with ease showing off her great racing bloodlines. I trot Storm over to Tim and Misty and we head back to the stables. We depart once we reach the road and I give Tim one last kiss. I tell him I'll meet home over at Wind Chasers as soon as I've put Storm up for the night.
