Colour| Chestnut Markings| Personality/History| Pride's Chance was born at Whitebrook Farm after his dam was purchased from a Keeneland bloodstock sale. Pride's Chance quickly became a commanding presence on the farm, being a glutton for work and quick to train to the track. As a two-year-old, he was held back until late in the year as we waited for him to mature. When we finally released him onto the track, his talent was obvious. Pride's Chance was shipped to California to begin prep races for the Kentucky Derby. He quickly became a favorite for the Santa Anita Derby after coming in a strong second in the Santa Catalina and a runaway first in the San Rafael Stakes. Pride's Chance was sent off the favorite in the Santa Anita Stakes. Unfortunately, Pride's Chance did not finish the race, breaking down in the far turn. Although he now has four screws holding together his left fore leg, Pride's Chance is now a healthy and active stud at Whitebrook Farm.
